A Mid April Morning Ride

bright blue sky
a circular roll of clouds
around the Tucson basin
like the city just blew
a giant smoke ring
which rolled ever so slowly
out to the four square horizons
ending in a marble sky
by the return home

not many on the Loop today
a few morning doves
along the way
and a few spandex-clad
bikies in a hurry to
who knows where
as usual
actually, not much of
the usual crowd

a cool morning
the riverbed bone dry
covered in tracks
and debris from
the heavy wind yesterday
made it home
in record time
put my Catrike away
till the next ride
