Tradition
tradition is
a prison
keeps us stuck
in the gatekeepers’
versions of normal
always hinders
progress
may be good
for nostalgia
but never blueprint
for life

PS: Based on a lifetime of observation. To be fair, I do like some traditions. But again, for nostalgia’s sake and nothing more…; -)

A short poem, but one with a very powerful message. It invites us to consider that traditions can be valuable as part of our memories, but they shouldn’t prevent us from changing, growing, and seeking new paths. The past can teach us a lot, but it doesn’t have to dictate how we live in the present.
