Everywhere I look, most everyone seems to be running around, faster and faster, like they’re going to miss ‘the boat’ or something, not realizing that ‘the boat’ has already left. That ‘boat’ was never meant for us … just for propagandists and vested interests … IMHO
Social Treadmill
So why?
Most everyone
Frantically moving
Faster and faster
As fast as they can
Without falling
Without tripping
Themselves up
Mostly
But
Most ‘trip themselves up’
Eventually
Inevitably
If not in
Giddy youth
Then in
Middle and old age
What is so important
That we must keep moving
Faster and faster
Pushing harder and harder
Even as abilities and strength
Decline
Or are perhaps
Just episodic
Again …
To what end?
Surely not
The end?
Most of society
Seems awfully eager
To just skip to it
Acceleration
Till the explosion
Then dissipation
And return to
The Void

I think the need for 6 days rat race to nowhere, and the 7th day completely unplug and rest, eat minimal, touch the grass, do nothing and rest well. At least that breaks the treadmill cycle.

Cassa, thanks for reading and commenting!
I agree that’s often the best we can do; but the whole ‘treadmill’ was instituted to keep us busy, keep us down, not rock the boat for the privileged among us… IMHO…; -)
